1900S CAMEO Sash Pin Art Deco Geometric, Carved Shell Cameo Goddess FLORA w/ 7 Flowers 2 3/4" 1890 C Clasp One of a Kind Gorgeous. "Identifying Brooches" states: " Sash Pin. This is a type of pin used to secure a sash at a lady's hip during the late 1800s when the fad of wearing a sash over the shoulder and across bosom (imitating Queen Victoria) or around the waist became popular. Most examples have very thick pin stems to allow for penetrating several layers of fabric." The setting is an awesome Art Deco Flourish work of Brass art all be itself! This vertical clasp is tight enough that if you wish, you may slip a necklace under top of clasp to wear as a necklace. If you are active, you may also need to use brooch clasp also to keep necklace in place. All I did here was add a beautiful vintage hand carved cameo of Flora to opening in Sash Pin. Brooch Measures 2 1/2" by 1 7/8 ", raised 1/4". Thick pin stem & 1890 C clasp brooch. Other items in final pictures, I also listed today. :>) I am delighted to be able to bring you these beautiful antiques!
