Product Description & Reviews
What a fun pair of cufflinks... These have real meteorites on the fronts! These well-made and sturdy cufflinks are handmade by me...I soldered standard cufflink backs onto the Meteorite fragments...these're sterling silver, stamped 925 on the swivel toggle. Each chunk o' space debris is about an inch across. These meteorite fragments came from what's known as the Campo del Cielo strike. This refers to the area where they are found: 1,000 kilometers (620 mi) northwest of Buenos Aires, Argentina. The crater field covers an area of 100 square miles and contains at least 26 craters, the largest being approximately 70 x 50 feet. The crater's age is estimated as 4,000 to 5,000 years. The craters, containing iron masses, were reported in 1576, but were already well known to the aboriginal inhabitants of the area. The craters and the area around them contain numerous fragments of an iron meteorite. (92% iron and 7% nickel) The total weight of the pieces so far recovered exceeds 100 tons, making the meteorite the heaviest one ever recovered on Earth. The largest fragment, consisting of 37 tons, is the second heaviest single-piece meteorite recovered on Earth! Iron is also good to wear to fortify the blood. ~This will arrive gift boxed, ready to gift wrap or wear! ~ you can also find, LIKE & follow Squidnuggets on Instagram for first looks at new work!!
