I didn't use a zipper for this bag because I wanted to prevent any scratches to the camera with the zipper. You can close the bag by rolling the top part and using a swivel snap hook. The inspiration for this bag's shape actually comes from Japanese rice packaging bag.
"Sashiko" stitching is Japanese traditional technique of running stitch. Sashiko is a form of decorative reinforcement stitching from Japan.
As you can see from the photos, this roll bag can be folded at any height. It has enough space to put a digital camera. For smaller sized camera, you can carry batteries and cords too.
It is good size for everyday use, of course it is perfect for traveling.
For this leather bag, I chose black and green coloured leather. I wanted to make this bag distinctive appearance with Sashiko stitching and chose beige thread. I did Sashiko stitching on both sides of bag. Hope you like it!
I always use pig suede leather because it is soft, tender, durable and light weight. And I use interfacing to make the bag more durable.
I bought outer leather (black and green) in Japan. Swivel snap hook is made in Japan too.
It is lined with light grey coloured leather.
